How To Give

You can always give by check (made payable to Grace Community Church) or cash. We have a time of giving during each weekend gathering, or you can mail your gift to:

If you choose to give cash, please consider placing it in an envelope with your name and mailing address so we can properly account for it and ensure you are eligible to deduct it on your taxes.

Estate Planning

You may designate Grace Community Church to receive all or a portion of your estate after your lifetime. This type of giving may be accomplished through:

Will or Trust

You can name Grace Community Church in your will or trust as a beneficiary, and your estate may receive an income tax deduction for the value of your bequest. Consult with your estate planning attorney and your financial and/or tax advisor to analyze your particular situation and confirm benefits.

Retirement Accounts

You can name Grace Community Church as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or other qualified retirement plans. Any amounts remaining in your plan, free of income and estate tax, will transfer to Grace Community Church. Consult with your financial and/or tax advisor to analyze your particular situation and confirm tax benefits.

Life Insurance

You can simply name Grace Community Church as beneficiary of part or all of your life insurance policy.

Stocks and Mutual Funds

Giving appreciated stocks and mutual funds is a great way to maximize your giving because you receive an immediate income tax deduction for the full fair market value of securities you transfer that you’ve held for at least one year. Consult with your financial and/or tax advisor to analyze your particular situation and confirm tax benefits.

How to Give

• To improve efficiency, Grace Community Church has partnered with Edward Jones to process gifts of marketable securities, such as stocks, mutual funds, or bonds, directly.

• If you are interested in giving restricted securities, stock options, or matching gifts from your employer, please contact Lisa Ellis at Lisa@graceforall.org or call (828) 724-9599.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions

If you are over 70-1/2 years old, then you may distribute directly from your IRA to Grace Community Church up to $108,000 and exclude the contributed amount from your gross income for tax purposes. This amount can be counted towards the IRA’s annual required minimum distribution. Consult with your financial and/or tax advisor to analyze your particular situation and confirm tax benefits.

Many banks offer their customers the ability to setup a recurring bank draft from your account mailed directly to a recipient (such as Grace Community Church). If interested in this low-cost giving option, please contact your bank to set up a recurring gift to Grace Community Church as a new payee.

Give from Your Realm Profile

You can give any amount using the button on your profile. You can also schedule contributions to recur over time.

1. Sign in to your  Realm site.

2. Click Giving in the main menu.

3. Click Give. If you don't see this button, contact your church and ask about online giving.

4. Enter the amount you want to give, then select the fund.

   1. Optional: If a memo is available, add a note.

   2. Optional: To give to more than one fund at a time, click Another Fund.

5. Optional: If available, select Dedicate this gift in memory or in honor of someone.

6. Select a gift frequency.

   • Give Once – Select a date to give a one-time gift.

   • Give Multiple Times – Select a frequency by which your gift will recur. If you set up a recurring online gift, you will receive an email when the end date has been reached.

7. Click Continue.

8. Enter your payment method, or select one that you saved.

   1. Optional: If you want to add a new payment method, select Enter a different payment method than one you already have.

9. Click Give.

   A confirmation message displays.

10. Optional: If you want to turn your one-time gift into a scheduled gift, select the check box and a frequency for the gift.

11. Click Finish.

Real Estate or Non-cash Assets

If you’d like to discuss a possible gift of real estate, a trust or retirement account or another unique gift, please contact Lisa Ellis, at Lisa@graceforall.org or (828) 724-9599.

If you are 70½ or older, you can make a direct distribution of up to $108,000 from your IRA to Grace Community Church, excluding that amount from your taxable income. This distribution can also count toward your required minimum distribution. As always, consult your financial and/or tax advisor to confirm how this may benefit you.
