Executive Assistant & Worship Coordinator
I grew up in the small town of Sanford, NC outside of Raleigh, after my dad answered the call to pastor a church there. Some of my earliest memories are times we sat at the kitchen table in the evenings, he was writing papers and I was coloring pictures. As a preacher’s kid, I was at church every time the doors were open. I came to Christ when I was 5 years old.
However, I struggled under pressure to be perfect because of my dad’s role in the church and community. I loved Jesus, but struggled with the church, even telling God, “I will never go into ministry.” The summer before my senior year in high school, my faith became my own on a youth mission trip. That night I vividly remember surrendering my life to Christ, and saying, “Lord I’ll do anything, use me for your glory.”
This influenced my decision to attend Montreat College on a volleyball scholarship in 2008. During my time at Montreat and while working summers at the same camp I attended as a student, the Lord began to call me to ministry. In 2009 I started attending Grace and began serving in the youth ministry. After graduating from Montreat College in 2011 with my Bachelors of Science in Psychology I spent time in East Asia as a missionary, returning to Western North Carolina in 2015, continuing to serve in Student and Young Adult ministries here at Grace. I spent 4 years managing Dynamite Roasting Company in Black Mountain before coming on staff at Grace in April of 2019 as the Executive Assistant.
